Evaluate evidence then exercise faith

Not the other way around! Don’t blindly follow a teaching and then seek to validate or excuse your laziness. A mark of the first Christians was to test and evaluate what was taught. So much so that the biographers of Jesus had to ensure they completed extensive research that could be verified by eye witnesses before they published.

Inasmuch as many have undertaken to compile a narrative of the things that have been accomplished among us, just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word have delivered them to us, it seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time past, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught. ~ Luke 1:1-4

Babylonian Tablet A Hard Pill To Swallow

The historical veracity of the Old Testament received a shot in the arm recently when British Museum staff reported on the discovery of a Babylonian tablet that aligns with the account of Jerimiah.
