It’s great blockbuster adventure action and most of all entertainment. There are countless allusions to various other Lucas/Spielberg productions as well as many Indiana Jones nostalgic references. The plot book-ends the movies series well (in ways that may be spoilery if noted in too much detail here) and there’s also an opening to continue the adventure franchise (again spoliery – so won’t say too much more).
It’s way beyond reality and yes there are enormous holes in the plot (especially in the area of history and science) but hopefully you don’t go to an Indy movie on the pretense it’s a documentary! It’s good old fashioned big screen fun! No (or very little) foul language, no sex or nudity – just swashbuckling action.
