The Church has nothing to say apart from the Scriptures

Without Scripture the Church is mute and impotent. The Church has nothing to say apart from the Scriptures. Beware of trying to imitate the world and finding a basis in Scripture for the world’s wisdom expressed in self-help books and 12 step plans. Preach and teach the Word; this is the only thing we can offer the world that she cannot find anywhere else.

All these days I heard the following words of Einstein:
“Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.”

But the other day it is reported in the Guardian that a lost letter written by Einstein has been traced and it’s going to be auctioned next week in London.

I am surprised to read a different tone of passage written by Einstein in that letter. The lines here: “The word god is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this.”

Please do read the report at: The Guardian

I read it on a blog too: http://markii.wordpress.com/2008/05/12/lost-letter-einstein-on-religion/

Please give us the right counseling. May the Lord bless all.

I have read before about Einstein’s beliefs. I think he was a deist or at best an agnostic.
Brilliant though he was in the fields of Physics etc, his alledged opinion of God or scripture doesn’t alter their authority, authenticity or application to our redemption.
The word of God abides forever, men of science come and go.

Al Mohler has also summarised this new report about Einstein.

He is a brilliant scientist, but…
Why isn’t it ever and?

There are many brilliant theistic scientists. I’m not making an exception of Einstein one way or the other. e.g. goto http://www.answersingenesis.org and you’ll meet quite a few who are recognised experts within their scientific fields (ie by the broader scientific community - not the Church). They just happen to also affirm the God of the Bible.
