I think so.
I’m all for the quote they mentioned:
“Clergy shouldn’t be afraid to engage with popular culture as for many young people television plays a large role in their thinking.”
It’s vital we understand the context of people that we minister to.
I would just be careful in the extent that Dr Who is used as a platform for this. The plot is heavily reliant on evolutionary philosophy – even though the basic worldview of themes explored – such as good-v-evil etc has a biblical presupposition.
Our challenge is understanding the influence of TV on their thinking and leading them to Christ and scripture to “renew their minds” (aka Rom 12:1-2).
