Warming to the idea?

13 03 2007

Worried about the global warming phenomena?

I’m not (yet anyway).

Do you know in 1975 (over 30 years ago) there was concern in the scientific community about “Global Cooling”!

So, do you get on the bandwagon or do you consider the alternate arguments? There’s even a video of the UK Channel 4 documentary available to consider. Also available on Google Video. (*view both sites with discernment)

Al Gore posits himself to lead the earth away from ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ - while leading them into a convenient lie - that man can fully restore the earth.

Man has a responsibility to care for God’s Earth. - Psalm 24:1 & Genesis 1:28, & 2:15.

Creation suffers from the curse of man’s sin and only Christ can restore the Earth and release that curse (Romans 8:19-25). That doesn’t lessen our responsibility, it does mean that we, through our own efforts, are unable to overcome the ultimate consequences of sin. The real inconvenient truth is that man has sinned and rejected God and the world lies in ruin until God restores it. (Revelation 21:1, 27)

After those 30 years the situation has gotten worse. The global warming is not something we can deny anymore. Listen, I took a trip to France and met a lot of different nationalities and everyone said the weather in their country is getting warmer and warmer. The ozone hole in the upper atmosphere isn’t going anywhere, on the contrary it’s growing. The Bible itself says the earth will be polluted because of mankind.
When God gave the earth to humans to rule I think He(I really hate calling God only He when She also created women as the image of God; a spirit can’t have a gender)wanted us to take good care of it. And since we don’t know the hour or the day when Jesus comes back, I think we should try to leave the planet to other generations of humans in best of condition.
Yeah, God said the false prophets would come declaring to be Jesus not declaring to be eco-warriors.

I take it from your comments that you didn’t read the articles I refered to or watched the documentary from UK 4. No-one denies the climate is warmer now than what it was recently. However throughout history there have been periods of warmth and periods of cold, so today’s phenomena isn’t necessarily the result of having too many electric light bulbs or from flying in planes.

Also - God is referred to by Christ as “Our Father” not our mother.

Also Christ’s warning about false prophets was that they would claim to be Christ - ie The Annointed or Promised One not that they would be Jesus. Al Gore is being touted as an “annointed one” a leader that can show the way for the world to save itself - exactly what Christ referred to. Gore is a false prophet promoting the religion of godless self sufficiency in the guise of concern about the environment.

Noone disputes we are stewards of God’s earth - again if you read my article that is plainly stated.

Following popular trends is not an indication of integrity it’s an indication of self deception and delusion.
